Alternative Football League is a short documentary that highlights a football league specifically created to welcome women, non-binary, and transgender people of all ages and skill levels. I was excited to contribute to a project that offers insight into the queer community and celebrates the power of inclusivity and connection through sport.
I edited the film during the summer of 2024, working closely with an edit producer who had also been involved in production. I also collaborated with a colourist and an audio mixer, which helped me grow not only as a storyteller but also as a team player, learning from professionals across different departments. Throughout the project, I used the industry-standard Avid proxy workflow - an approach I’ve adapted from my role as an edit assistant at Racoon.
In my free time, I’ve been diving into different film projects to figure out my style as an editor and filmmaker. Whether it’s putting together a documentary or experimenting with abstract visuals, I’m trying to find new ways to see the world and tell stories that don’t always get heard. For me, it’s about connecting with people and giving space to perspectives that might otherwise go unnoticed.
